Sunset Apartment - Langkawi. A modern, well equipped, two bedroomed apartment with wifi, on a private and secure complex. Located on the outskirts of Langkawi's capital town - Kuah, the complex boasts the best swimming pool on the island for swimmers, and backs onto an undisturbed rainforest. Monkeys and exotic birds are neighbours to the complex, and you can listen to the night sounds of the forest as you drift to sleep.
Getting to the apartment to the airport is easy, as it is located a 20 minute taxi ride from Langkawi airport. Taxi's are plentiful at the airport, the fee is fixed at 25 ringitts (RM), and all the drivers know where the complex is located.
The apartment is the ideal base to explore Langkawi, or simply to relax and enjoy the wonderful climate. Compared to similar standard hotel accommodation on the island, our rental rates offer great value, and allow you the opportunity to take your meals when and where you want. Central Kuah is within a 10 minute walk and offers a selection of shops, banks and plenty of places to eat. There are shops and eateries even closer should you want to stay out of town.
Langkawi is a nature lovers paradise. Being assigned 'World Geopark' status by Unesco in 2007, the island provides a vast array of opportunities to experience natural wildlife in the raw. From acres of rain forest, to miles of unspoilt (and uncrowded) beaches, the island really is fascinating to explore, and readily accessible. The road system is great, car hire/taxi's are cheap, and petrol a fraction of the price than in Western Europe. There really is no excuse to not getting out and about.
The island enjoys duty free status, and whilst this makes alcohol cheap, thankfully there is no excessive behaviour anywhere on the island or within the complex. Residents are obviously requested to respect this environment.
Overall Langkawi makes an excellent holiday if you like nature, beaches, great food, exploring, swimming and generally taking things easy. Its also great value to eat and drink there. Its probably not so good though if you are looking for night clubbing or mega shopping, but then there are loads of other destinations that can offer that.
It has a growing ex-pat community as Malaysia is becoming a popular retirement destination. If you are thinking of retiring there, then our apartment offers you an ideal way of dipping your toe in the water, and seeing if island life is for you. Alternatively, its a great place for couples and families who want to enjoy unspoilt nature.
There are lots of places to visit and things to do. Here are a few that you can Google for further details:-
Langkawi cable car, Langkawi Snake Sanctuary, Eagle Square, Lagenda Park, Gunung Raya, Langkawi Crocodile Adventureland, Pregnant Maiden Lake, Telanga Waterfalls, Laman Padi Rice Garden, Underwater World, Galeria Perdana, Mangrove Tour Langkawi, Royal Yacht Club.
If you prefer beaches, then Langkawi has its fair share of these, and here are a few suggestions for you to visit:-
Pantai Tengah - adjoins Pantai Cenang, but is quieter and more suited to families. The place to chill in peace.
Pantai Kok - near to the Cable Car and relatively undisturbed. The place to be alone.
Tanjung Rhu - far north of the island, and the most picturesque with many natural attractions. The place to explore.
Pantai Cenang - the islands most popular. Lots of restaurants, shops, white sand and people. The place to be seen.
We love Langkawi island, its people and its relaxed ambiance. Should you decide to stay at our apartment we will be happy to help you make the most of your time there, and help you in putting together an itinerary that will reflect your preferences and timescales.
