Pitocco is located just outside the twin villages of Fiano and Loppeglia in the hills just north of the beautiful historic walled city of Lucca.5 min walk into Fiano which has a restaurant, Church and local grocery shop and another 10 min walk to Loppeglia which contains a Pizzeria, Coffee Bar and a couple of local grocery stores. There is a bus service from Fiano - Lucca that takes 40mins and goes 3 times a day. By car, Lucca is a 25min drive, the beach at Viaraggio is 45 mins and Florence 1.5 hours.
From Pisa airport you can take the autostrada (A11/A12) which is quicker or you can drive through the villages.Look for the GENOA sign to begin with and then PISA NORD - you go through the toll and continue until you see LUCCA.Then follow for CAMAOIRE and turn right in SAN-MARTINO-EN-FREDDANA for FIANO. our village.Pass the church and saw-mill and Pitocco is the first house after the saw-mill on the right. Take care as roads are narrow and winding - sound your horn. Lucca is a beautiful mediaval walled city with many churchs which have evening concerts throughout the summer months. Puccini's museum is worth a visit and his photos and music can be seen and heard around the city where he was born. Lucca has a wonderful open-air concert every August with artists from around the world.
