Club Rio is located between the old convent of Ferragudo to its right and the historic Castle of St. Joao do Arade. Closest to Club Rio you find the small beach of Angrinha overlooked by the Castle itself and if you walk passed the Castle you find one of the finest natural sandy beaches, Praia Grande. There you find watersport facilities as well as beach side bars and restaurants. Opposite Ferragudo is the newly built marina of Portimao. Ferragudo itself is is a very picturesque village, its narrow streets and old town houses unspoilt, often depicted as thee typical Algarve fishing village. A short walk form the apartment down the cobbled streets of Ferragudo takes you to the village square and to the adjacent small fishing harbour with its restaurants and bars.
A 10 minutes drive will take you to the bustling town of Portimao with some of the best shopping in the Algarve.
