Aillac is close to many attractive sites of Perigord Noir, incl. Sarlat (7 km) with its old town and a famous market; the bastide of Domme (12 km), castles of Beynac, Castelnaud, Les Milandes (18km), La roque-Gageac (12 km); Les Eyzies and the Cros-Magnon man area, the caves of Padirac, Cougnac, the pilgrimage site of Rocamadour and many other places of interest are within easy distance.
Font de Gaume
This is an absolute must see. The grotte at Font de Gaume is home to the only neolithic cave paintings still open to the public in France.
