Apartment located at the heart of charming historical Lisbon, in Rua de São Julião, nearby the monumental Praça do Comércio, where the centre of the Portuguese old empire was located, near the river Tejo (Tagus). A 5 minute walk takes you to the Bairro Alto and Chiado/Santa Catarina. On the other direction you will reach the St George's Castle (Castelo de São Jorge) and the old and straits streets of Alfama. The Lisbon Cathedral (Sé Catedral) and the main squares, like Rossio and Praça da Figueira, are also at a walking distance from the apartment. Other interesting villages outside Lisbon, like Cascais and Sintra, can be easily reached by train because the apartment is close to Cais do Sodré Rail Station (Cascais) and Rossio Rail Station (Sintra).
Baixa-Chiado is an elegant district with shops, restaurants, old cafes, theatres, bars, fado restaurants, banks, cash machine, public transportation (subway, normal and tourist buses, electric trams, river boats, 24 hour taxi stands, etc).
