Weligama is a small fishing town just half a mile from our villa on the south coast of Sri Lanka and off the tourist trail with fabulous beaches and stunning scenery. The Indian Ocean, palm trees, sandy beaches and a laid back way of life. Our manager can take you on tours to Yala National Park to look for leopard and bear, Unawatuna, Galle town for shopping, or on a 3 day tour of the central highlands, visiting Kandy, tea estates, elephant orphanage, stunning waterfalls and viewing wildlife en route. (We stay at the unique Helga's Folly in Kandy). Golf is available in Kandy at Lake Victoria Dam and there are plenty of temples, gemstone factories, antiques and craft shops to visit. Our cook will also teach you how to make a Sri Lankan curry (on request). We can arrange for an ayuverdic masseur to come to our villa and sooth your body and soul (on request). Cricket is the beloved game in Sri Lanka and Galle has its own test match ground at Galle Fort. There is much to see!
