Tossa de Mar is a small holiday resort which is a family friendly town. There are 3 beaches, a medieval castle to explore with houses still in the castle grounds, quaint walking streets with interesting shops where you can browse and cafes and restaurants to suit every taste and budget. You can either travel by bus or by boat to other towns in the area. Excursions are offered to visit further attractions further a field such as Barcelona or to explore the countryside and inland medieval towns.
The villa is situated approximately 5 - 10 minutes walk from the beach areas of Tossa and traditional town center. There are 3 beaches in total to choose from, the main beach and 2 smaller coves. You will find many activities on the beach from volleyball to different types of watersports. You can take a trip in the glass bottomed boat or take a excursion along the coast by boat from to Sant Feliu de Guixols to Blanes stopping at several resorts in between.
If more action is required the lively town of Lloret de Mar is only a 15 mins drive. Here you will find discos, water park, pitch and putt golf course etc...
The nearest airport is Girona which is approximately 40 minutes drive from Tossa de Mar. It is served by many airlines but in particularly Ryanair which offers cheap flights. Barcelona airport is another choice which is approximately 1hr 30 mins drive. This is obviously an international airport with flights from all over the world but it is also served by budget airlines such as Ryanair and Easyjet. You can catch a bus or taxi from Girona airport to Tossa if you don't want to hire a car.
